1. Our Commitment to Accessibility
Winner People is committed to providing an inclusive, accessible, and barrier-free experience for all users, including disabled people and those who rely on assistive technologies. We recognise that accessibility is fundamental to delivering a high-quality service to our audiences, contributors, and community.
Disabled people are a diverse group with differing and sometimes non-visible needs. We are committed to making our platform usable for as many people as possible and to continually improving our accessibility in line with best practice and legal obligations under the Equality Act 2010.
Accessibility applies not only to our digital services, but also to the way we work, the tools we use, and the way we engage with contributors and audiences.
2. Standards We Follow
Winner People uses the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 Level AA as the guiding framework for accessible design and development.
These internationally recognised standards help ensure our site is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for all users.
We aim to:
- Build accessibility into our platform from the start of all new design and development work.
- Review and improve existing features so that they align more closely with WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
- Make reasonable adjustments wherever possible to support disabled users.
Accessibility is an ongoing process, and we continually review our practices, tools, and content to identify areas for improvement.
3. Accessibility Features on the Winner People Platform
To support an inclusive user experience, our platform currently includes:
Keyboard Navigation
- All links and top-level navigation menus are operable via keyboard input.
- Focus indicators help users track their position on the page.
- A “skip to content” link allows keyboard users to bypass repeated navigation.
Text Alternatives
- Alternative text (alt text) is provided for meaningful images and non-text content so that screen readers can describe them.
Colour Contrast
- Text and interface elements meet recommended contrast ratios for readability.
Resizable Text and Zoom
- Users may increase text size up to 200% and use browser zoom/pinch-to-zoom without loss of functionality.
Consistent Navigation and Structure
- Headings, landmarks, menus, and relationships between elements are structured to assist users who rely on assistive technologies.
4. Where We’re Improving
We recognise that accessibility requires continual attention. We are actively working on further improvements, including:
- Enhancing keyboard navigation for complex interface components such as dropdown menus.
- Improving the accessibility of sliders, carousels, and other interactive media elements.
- Reducing reliance on third-party widgets or embedding alternatives where accessibility is limited.
As we grow our platform, all new pages, videos, and interactive features will be checked against WCAG 2.1 AA standards before release.
5. Accessibility in Our Wider Practices
Accessibility is part of our organisational culture. We aim to ensure that:
- Accessibility is considered at the earliest stages of platform development an content production.
- Staff, freelancers, and contributors receive guidance on accessible content where relevant.
- Internal systems, tools, and processes are reviewed to ensure they do not create barriers.
- Accessibility expectations are included when procuring digital tools or working with third-party providers.
We intend to deliver a standard of access for disabled users that is as close as possible to that offered to non-disabled users, taking into account what is reasonable and practicable.
6. Limitations and Third-Party Content
While we strive to ensure the accessibility of all content on the Winner People platform, some areas may rely on third-party technology or providers.
We cannot guarantee accessibility on external websites or services that fall outside our control.
However, we consider accessibility when selecting tools and partners and will take reasonable steps to minimise barriers.
7. Roles and Responsibilities
Accessibility is a shared responsibility across Winner People:
All team members are expected to consider accessibility in their day-to-day work.
Senior leaders champion accessibility as part of inclusive design and content strategy.
Each operational area has responsibility for ensuring compliance with this policy as it relates to their work.
8. Feedback and Support
We welcome questions, comments, and feedback about accessibility on the Winner People platform.
If you experience any difficulty using our website or content—especially when using assistive technologies—please contact us:

9. Review of This Policy
This policy will be reviewed at least every two years, or sooner if required because of:
- Updates to WCAG standards
- Changes to legislation
- Significant changes to the Winner People platform.
